The Apophis (based on Royal Serpent) is a boss monster in the Crimson Badlands. Only one spawns per day, in the south-west of the map. Apophis spawns with seven segments. The image here shows two.

The Apophis sprite, behavior, and health changed in v.1.12. Prior to this, Apophis was this smaller version that looks much like a more corrupt Badlands Serpent.
As of SVE 1.12.14 this original Apophis sprite is now the sprite for Corrupt Serpent.
