The Crimson Badlands is a desert wasteland on the Galdoran Continent created by ancient dark magic.
In order to unlock it, the player must have seen the "Nexus: Galdoran Continent" event. This is the final event the Enchanted Grove questline, which begins after having seen Marlon's Galaxy Sword event, met Alesia at the Adventurer's Guild, removed the boulder blocking the Summit, and reached the caldera of the Ginger Island volcano. (Note: In year 3+, this event will automatically trigger on the 28th day of the current season once the player has unlocked the Enchanted Grove)
There are several locations within the Crimson Badlands, including the entrance to Castle Village to the north (not accessible as of 1.14.35), an oasis in the southeast, a skeleton graveyard in the south, and the entrance to Treasure Cave to the southwest.
Several types of bone artifacts can be found scattered throughout the skeleton graveyard, and two types of fish appear in the oasis.
To the far west of the Badlands is the Iridium Quarry, an off-shoot of the Badlands that is filled with Iridium Nodes, but is guarded by stronger Corrupt Mummies.
While in the Crimson Badlands, Stardew Valley Expanded defaults to using the Galdoran Theme for user interface.

An oasis containing two unique fish is located south of the entrance to the Desert Railway. Fishing here can be dangerous, as monsters will attack while waiting for fish to bite, making it best to clear the nearby area before casting a line.

- Using a reach mod or magic mod to interact with the people on top of the castle could cause some interesting dialogue. (Alesia calling you a spellcaster and Isaac calling you a cheater while the rest will just ask how you got up there).
