Magnus Rasmodius is the local wizard of Stardew Valley. He works alongside Marlon to protect the valley from corrupt monsters.

Once married, Magnus continues to work to protect the valley in his tower, but remains on the farm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. When Morgan arrives in year 3, Magnus will adjust his schedule on certain days to train Morgan in the ways of magic. On the 7th and 26th he does not return in the evening from training in the west section of the forest. After meeting Camilla, Magnus also will not return to the farm on Monday's.

The Farmer enters the western part of Cindersap Forest and finds Magnus assessing the strength of a magical barrier. Magnus explains that when witches and wizards choose a home, they take on the responsibility of maintaining the magical barrier which protects the local residents from monsters. He then states that Camilla, the witch of Castle Village, maintains the largest such barrier in the world.

A Wizard's Garden


The Farmer comes across Magnus working at his Ancient Fruit crops. He is adding a magical pesticide to keep insects away. He says that in addition to keeping away bugs, he has to protect them with magic from his ex-wife's hexes. Magnus shares that while he likes his role in the valley, it has been difficult having his heart broken twice. If he ever loves again though, it would likely be for someone who appreciates plants, prompting the Farmer to say:

  • "My farm has an awful lot of plants..."
Magnus laughs and reminds the Farmer that beyond plants, there is still the cauldron smell to get used to. He then heads inside, saying he has some business to attend to and asking the Farmer to stop by again soon.
  • "That shouldn't be too hard to find around here."
Magnus reflects on the number of people in the valley with talents for plant growing and ponders that it might come from living so close to nature. He then heads inside, saying he has some business to attend to and asking the Farmer to stop by again soon.

Junimo Rising


The Farmer enter's the Wizard's Tower to find Magnus on his summoning circle surrounded by excited Junimos. He attempted to cast a spell to communicate with them more, and it backfires causing the Junimos to have an increased interest in him. He asks the Farmer to read some lines of a spell in his magic book to help with the rambunctious Junimos. All but one of the Junimos disappear after the spell is read, and Magnus asks them where they come from in the forest. The screen fades and a message displays, describing their time with the Junimo and the forest spirit's eventual departure. Afterward, Magnus asks the Farmer whether they were suppressing a laugh over Magnus being jumped on by the Junimos. They respond either:

  • "Never, crossed my mind."
Magnus doesn't quite believe the Farmer, but appreciates they are trying to spare his feelings. He suggests next time he might visit the Junimos in the forest, rather than try to summon them again. Before going to explore the woods, he asks the Farmer to keep the story to themselves.

A Forest Feast

The Farmer enters the forest where Magnus has something to show them. Holding the Farmer's hand, he teleports both to Grenville Falls, a magical forest far away. He says it's one of the most beautiful places he's seen in his travels. The camera pans across other parts of the forest while gentle music plays. Magnus then says that while they've so far only discussed practical magic, there are moments of joy it can bring as well. He wants to share this happiness with the Farmer, summoning a banquet table covered in a large feast to the forest clearing. Before they eat, he thanks the Farmer for all the joy they have brought him and the two share a kiss.

Description:
Under the Sea


After you head outside of the ginger island house after sleeping in it. You talk to Magnus on the beach he mentions different courting rituals and says he is slightly jealous you got to him first before he could do it to you, He then encases you and him in a magic bubble to go underwater, for the two of you to go and visit some ruins. You head inside as the wizard calls a mermaid. The mermaids song is the same one that can be heard in the vanilla game. The player is given a mermaid's bracelet, the mermaid then winks then swims off. After you arrive back on the surface, Magnus asks what you think and the player kisses him.

He says the greatest gift you gave him wasn't the amulet, it was helping him find a way to use his magic in a way he thought was lost to him.

The Junimo Scroll


The farmer finds Magnus sitting outside his tower. He says that intense magic is surrounding them and asks them what they've done, to which the farmer explains what they found in Aurora vineyard. Magnus asks about an object the farmer is carrying, and they realize there's something in their pocket. They take out the scroll, and after inspecting it, Magnus asks them to come inside.

Inside the tower, Magnus attempts to decipher the scroll using magic, but is unsuccessful, so he summons a colleague to help. A few moments later, Camilla arrives, teleporting around the room to mess with Magnus and the farmer. She greets the farmer (Note: her dialogue here will vary depending on whether or not Camilla and the player have already met.) At Magnus's prompt, she looks at the Junimo scroll, saying that it looks like it was written by a child. She then explains that a Junimo, who has taken up residence in the old vineyard, is requesting 200 starfruit. She tells the farmer it looks like they're on the verge of making a new friend. She then proceeds to flirt with the farmer until Magnus tells her off, at which point she tells him he's no fun before warping out.

First Slash Warp

As the Farmer steps out of their front door, they're greeted by Magnus who says that it has come to his attention that the Farmer has made the acquaintance of Jolyne, guild leader of the First Slash. Magnus then allows the Farmer to use the warp to the First Slash guild hall in his Nexus.

Marriage[]

While married, Magnus moves onto the farm like other spouses, getting his own room and spouse area outside. Inside he adds a magic circle and shelves of books to his room, while his outside patio gets two ruined columns.

Magnus continues to go to his tower on Monday through Thursday, using it much like an office for his work protecting the valley. Friday through Sunday he will remain on the farm following regular spouse behavior, unless Morgan has arrived. In this case he will leave on certain dates for training sessions.

In the morning Magnus might gift a Triple Shot Espresso, and in the evening for dinner he can gift Roots Platter, Dish O' The Sea, Tropical Curry, Mango Sticky Rice, or Farmer's Lunch. Magnus will also try baking on occasion, gifting the Blueberry Tart, Rhubarb Pie, or Chocolate Cake results. In the fall he may gift Purple Mushroom or Chanterelle from foraging.
